From a young age, Shalea’s grandparents instilled in her the profound value of service to others. Throughout the years, she has discovered that some of her most cherished memories have been forged during moments of community service. These invaluable experiences were made possible through programs designed to uplift historically excluded communities, setting the stage for her lifelong commitment to making a difference.
As the Director of Finance at Erie’s Black Wall Street (EBWS), Shalea Fish brings her passion for service and her financial acumen to bear on a mission that matters deeply to her. In her role as an Account Receivable Specialist with Mercy Health Systems, she has honed her financial expertise, which aligns seamlessly with her responsibilities at EBWS. Here, Shalea manages all operational and grant funds, ensuring that the organization continues to have a positive and lasting impact on the lives of individuals, families, and businesses within the Black community.
Shalea’s journey of education and professional growth led her to Penn State University, where she pursued a comprehensive education in accounting. However, her commitment to serving the community goes beyond traditional financial expertise. Shalea is currently working toward obtaining her certificate in Financial Social Work, a testament to her dedication to understanding and addressing the unique financial challenges faced by individuals and families.
